What makes us different at Reformer Pilates by The Women’s Gym?

Our research and published research into ‘Women & the Gym’ have allowed us to be a leading force in the space of women’s fitness. We’re now more knowledgeable than ever about the barriers women are facing when it comes to workout spaces and have designed an entire concept, The Women’s Gym, as a response to those challenges and a way to overcome them.

Reformer Pilates by The Women’s Gym is the latest string to this bow, opening at our Wilmslow club for guests to be able to add another element of fitness into their week.

As an extension of our existing women’s only gym, there’s plenty of things that make our Reformer Studio different to others. So, what does that include?

Strictly women only

As with The Women’s Gym, when we say this is an exclusive female space, we mean it. Designed to be a place that women from all walks of life can feel entirely comfortable to work out in a way that suits them, we’re incredibly serious when we say women only, and our Reformer Studio is no exception.

Not just female only members but this also goes for staff. Every member of the Women’s Gym team is female, and this will be the same for the instructors and support staff working in our Reformer space. Even the cleaners entering the space will only ever be female.

Male staff working in the wider business do not have permission to enter our female-only spaces outside of our planned weekly maintenance hour, so you can attend with full confidence that this really is an exclusive space for women.

Outcome not ability

Many workout classes in the reformer market are named and designed around ability. Think ‘beginner’ or ‘foundation’ all the way to ‘advanced’… but not here.

Ability is subjective, outcome is definite, and that’s why we’ve both named and built our classes around their content and outcome. We believe this approach feels more accessible for women attending at all stages of their fitness journey and broadens the scope of classes each guest can attend from day one.

To find out more about each of our four classes, you can check out our blog post on those here.

An adaptable space for you to control

We believe in creating workout spaces that feel like your own and we’re committed to providing as many opportunities to control your own space as possible.

In our new Reformer Studio, members will be able to choose the bed they use for their class when booking on the Total Fitness app. You can decide whether to face a mirror, a content screen or neither, whichever will enhance your class.

So, whether these things make you feel focused or distracted, you no longer have to leave these factors to chance.

All the gear, all the ideas

As well as 10 x Merrithew SPX Max beds that promise ease of use and a smooth experience, we’ve also kitted the studio out with a whole host of accessories to enhance each of our classes.

From Pilates rings to pill weights in 3 x different weights, our accessories wall is designed to give you access to everything you need to elevate your workout on your terms.

Reformer Pilates may be ever-growing in popularity but the opening of Reformer Pilates by The Women’s Gym is far from hopping on a trend. We truly believe in the power of the bed itself and the extra level of confidence and empowerment the mastery of the machine can provide our female members.

The added level of resistance the reformer can give to each workout has endless physical benefits and the golden thread of Pilates breathing through these classes delivers a uniquely intense yet restorative workout.
