How The Women's Gym has supported my fitness journey so far

When I joined The Women’s Gym in Whitefield back in September, I was confident running 5 or 10k… but put me in a gym and I had no idea where to start. I felt like a total beginner - because I was.

Fast forward four months, and everything’s changed.

I’ve thrown myself into my first circuit class, Ignite, and it was nothing like the intimidating experience I’d built up in my head. It was full of girls who show up week after week, and they welcomed me straight in - no judgement, no pressure, just good energy and a proper sense of “we’ve got you.”

It’s not just the equipment (which is designed specifically for women and so much easier to navigate). It’s the atmosphere and the support. The way the team and members champion each other. There’s a level of girl power here that I’ve never felt in any other Manchester gym - uplifting, real, and infectious. You walk in and instantly feel part of something.

Thanks to my welcome session with Charlotte, I finally understand how to use the machines and YBells properly, and I actually look forward to training upper and lower body now. I can feel my confidence growing in and out of the gym.

Over the next couple of months, I’m excited to get stuck into more of Megan’s classes, build my strength, and keep working on that mindset and body confidence that The Women’s Gym has already helped me unlock.

I’m stepping into 2026 feeling strong, supported, and ready for whatever comes next - from half marathons to The Women’s Gym Whitefield turning two. Stay tuned for the next chapter of my fitness journey.

2026 - let’s go.
